KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State track and field teams captured both team titles at the Don McGarey Invitational Saturday at the KSU Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
KSU honored its senior class in a ceremony prior to action beginning on Saturday.
Men's Recap
In just his second outdoor collegiate meet, Freshman
Gage Voyles cleared 2.18m (7'1.75") to win the high jump and establish a school record in the event. He broke Andre Dorsey's record of 2.17m that was set back on Mar. 26, 2016.
The men's 4x100m squad of
Trey Geter,
Eric Young II, Ca'Von Lucas and
Pishon Haughton ran a time of 40.11 seconds to win the event.
Junior
Josh Jones won the 100m hurdles in 14.29 seconds.
Cameron Guadiano (14.37 seconds) and
Darris Roberts (14.83 seconds) took home third and fourth place.
Sophomore
Justin Warner posted a time of 47.27 seconds to win the 400m by 0.55 seconds.
Freshman Ca'Von Lucas recorded a time of 10.66 seconds to secure third in the 100m.
The men's hurdles squad of
Josh Jones,
Cameron Guadiano,
Darris Roberts and
Marion Clark won the 4x400m relay in 3:14.95.
Senior
Simon Seid got over the bar at 5.21m (17'1") to grab a win in the pole vault.
Freshman
Cameron Dean landed a mark of 15.49m (50'9.75") to win the men's triple jump.
Women's Recap
The women's 4x100m relay team of
Natalie Harris,
Ebony Whyte,
Samiya Wayne,
Kenadie Singleton ran a time of 45.18 seconds to win the event. That time ranks No. 7 in program history.
Natalie Harris (13.80 seconds),
Alina Harris (13.88 seconds),
Madison Maxey (14.02 seconds) and
Hannah Cheek (14.07 seconds) placed second, third, fifth and sixth in the 100m hurdles.
Junior Sammy Hartman (2:12.75) and Sophomore Kelly Milles (2:16.76) took home first and second in the 800m.
Eliana Mbadinga,
Kenadie Singleton,
Jadyn Bolden and
Aminah Jabbie closed the meet with a time of 3:46.67 to win the 4x400m relay.
Mbadinga won the 400m in 54.29 seconds.
In her KSU outdoor debut, junior
Morgan Pepe cleared the bar at 4.00m (13'1.50") to win the pole vault. This mark ranks No. 4 in program history.
KSU took the top three spots in the women's triple jump. Senior
Victoria Joyce won with a leap of 12.23m (40'1.5").
Jermiya Winston (11.98m | 39'3.75") and Kaylan McConehead (11.97m | 39'3.25") finished second and third.
Sophomore
Miah Johnson (4:48.92) and freshman
Tess Krogman (4:48.95) secured second and third in the 1500m.
