Kennesaw State (4-3, 0-0 CUSA) at Georgia Southern (3-2, 0-0 Sun Belt)
Statesboro, GA | Wallis Tennis Center | Friday, Feb. 20 | 1 p.m.

KENNESAW, Ga. — Kennesaw State men's tennis begins a six-match road stretch on Friday as it faces Georgia Southern in a 1 p.m. bout in Statesboro.

LAST TIME OUT
KSU split two tightly contested matches a week ago. The Owls defeated Chattanooga 4-3 on the road on Feb. 13 before falling 3-4 to North Alabama on Feb. 14.

KSU trailed the Mocs 2-3 before a tying singles win by Xavi Ferrer on court six. With the match squared at three, the Owls' hopes of a win rested on Nathan Walters' court-five match with Chattanooga's Kristof Kincses.

Walters came back from a 6-7 (4-7) loss in set one to win his second set 6-4. Down 3-4 in the third, Walters climbed back to tie 6-6 and claimed the tiebreaker 9-7.

UNA jumped out to a 2-0 lead after winning the doubles point and court two on Feb. 14. Dominic Ducariu sparked the KSU rally with a straight-set (6-3, 7-6) win on court four. Leon Peranovic followed with another singles win to knot the match 2-2.

Despite the Lions securing the match with wins on courts one and six, Walters finished the day strong for the Owls with a court-five win at 6-7, 7-6, 6-0. Walters is 6-1 on the season in No. 5 singles with six consecutive wins.

SERIES HISTORY
KSU and Georgia Southern meet for the 13th time on Friday, with the Eagles leading the series 9-3. The Owls will look to avenge a 0-4 loss suffered at home to Georgia Southern when the two met a season ago.
