Gage Voyles and
Emma Sullivan earned Conference USA Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors, the league announced.
Cross was named the CUSA Men's Track Athlete of the Week. The senior won the 60m semifinals with a personal best time of 6.54 seconds at the Tiger Paw Invitational. That time ranks first in CUSA, tied for fifth in the NCAA and tied for 19
th in the world this season. It also established a new school record in the event. The final was canceled and Cross was declared the winner of the event. He beat runners from Auburn, Florida State and Mississippi State among others.
Voyles was named CUSA Men's Freshman of the Week after winning the invite high jump at the Music City Challenge. Voyles cleared the bar at a personal best height of 2.13m (6'11".75") to win the event. It ranks first in CUSA and tied for 53
rd in the NCAA this season. He beat jumpers from Southern Miss, Indiana and Memphis among others.
Sullivan earned CUSA Women's Track Athlete of the Week after her performance in the invite 800m at the Tiger Paw Invitational. Sullivan finished second with a personal best time of 2:03.63. That time leads CUSA and ranks 28
th in the NCAA this season. She beat runners from Miami, Duke, Mississippi State and Georgia among others in the event.
