KENNESAW, Ga. — Kennesaw State women's tennis fell at home to App State in a 5-2 decision on Friday afternoon at Betty Siegel Courts.
The Owls started strong, securing the doubles point on courts one and three.
Ema Baraniakova and
Sofia Madrid defeated the Mountaineers' Savannah Dada Mascoll and Taya Powell, 6-2 in No. 1 doubles.
Maria Ivankovic and
Rianna Coreisa capped doubles play with a 6-4 win over Allegra Hodson and Ruby Broadbent.
Terezia Baraniakova earned KSU's second point of the day with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Alexi Cleveland on court six.
Coreisa and
Laura Nadaska fell in three-set matches on courts five and four, respectively. Dada Mascoll, the No. 6-ranked singles player nationally, overcame Madrid 6-3, 6-1 on court one.
Ema Baraniakova and Ivankovic came up short in their singles matches on courts two and three.
