LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Freshman Natalie Harris won the 60-meter hurdles and Chance Cross set a school record in the 60-meter dash as the Kennesaw State track and field teams wrapped up competition Friday at the Lenny Lyles Invitational.
Harris clocked a personal-best 8.41 seconds in the 60 hurdles to earn her first collegiate victory. Cross finished second in the 60 dash with a time of 6.59 seconds, breaking his own school record of 6.61. His mark ranks 10th in the NCAA this season.
Men's Recap
Josh Jones placed ninth in the 60m hurdles final with a time of 8.12 seconds.
Eric Young II finished third in the 400 meters in 47.26 seconds, while Pishon Haughton placed eighth with a season-best 47.95. Young II's time ranks third in program history.
Evan Martinez recorded a season-best throw of 17.19 meters (56'4.75") to finish fourth in the shot put on his final attempt.
Kenyatta Bennett and Gage Voyles each cleared 2.08 meters (6'9.75") in the high jump, placing fifth and seventh, respectively, based on attempts.
Women's Recap
Kenadie Singleton finished second in the 60 meters, running 7.43 seconds in both the semifinals and finals. Ebony Whyte placed seventh with a season-best time of 7.54.
Harris was joined in the 60 hurdles finals by teammates Tickia Sutton and Madison Maxey. Sutton ran a season-best 8.53 to place fifth, while Maxey clocked a season-best 8.61 to finish sixth.
Amelia Coker placed seventh in the heptathlon with 3,528 points.
BOSTON — Three members of the Kennesaw State men's track and field team competed Saturday at the John Thomas Terrier Classic.
Collins Kipkemboi placed 54th in the 3,000 meters with a time of 8:10.26, while Brian Limo finished 58th in 8:10.39. Kipkemboi's mark ranks third in program history, and Limo's ranks fifth.
Justin Warner placed 36th in the 800 meters, running 1:54.76.

Kennesaw State will be off next weekend before returning to action Feb. 13–14 at the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, S.C., and the Music City Challenge in Nashville.
