DALLAS - Kennesaw State freshman Alejandro Caraballo has been named Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week following a third-place finish at The Scrappy at Pinetree, where he helped lead the Owls to an eight-shot victory on their home course.
Caraballo finished tied for third at 2-under-par 214, carding rounds of 75-68-71. He was one of just five players in the 69-player field to finish under par and one of eight players to shoot under par in the final round. His second-round 4-under-par 68 tied for the second-lowest score of the round.
Caraballo led the field in par-4 scoring at 3.93 and tied for the tournament lead with 38 pars. He also recorded nine birdies over the 54-hole event, helping the Owls secure the team title by eight strokes against a field that included , Georgia State, UT Martin, Missouri State, Belmont, Samford among others. He also beat two individuals from Alabama and Augusta in the event.
