KSU Earns Doubles Point, Drops Match at Miami

CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Kennesaw State men's tennis opened its 2026 season with a 4-1 loss to Miami on Saturday night at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.

"It was great to finally get out on the match court and compete today," said KSU associate head coach Simon Pritchard. "The guys did an awesome job taking the doubles point and putting Miami on their heels. Hats off to Miami for bouncing back. They were better than us in singles today. We are excited to get back out there tomorrow morning against Stetson."

The Owls won the doubles point with victories on courts one and two from two pairs of newcomers.

Ben Hudson and Dominic Ducariu won their doubles match 6-1 over a pair of Miami seniors in Antonio Prat and Nacho Serra Sanchez.

Leon Peranovic and Nathan Walters defeated the Hurricanes' Jakub Kroslak and Mehdi Sadaoui 6-3 to secure the doubles point for KSU.

Saturday marked the first collegiate doubles victories for true freshmen Ducariu, Peranovic and Walters. For Hudson, a junior transfer from South Florida, Saturday's doubles win added to the 14 he tallied with the Bulls a season ago.

Miami stormed back in singles action to win the match with four points earned in straight-set victories.
