KENNESAW, Ga. — Kennesaw State women's tennis opens the 2026 season with two matches in Bloomington, Indiana, versus the host Hoosiers and DePaul Jan. 23-24.
RECAPPING 2025
The Owls finished the 2025 season ninth in Conference USA with a 7-8 record and a 4-2 loss to Liberty in the league quarterfinals.
WHO'S HOO IN 2026
KSU returns three All-CUSA honorees from a season ago in
Ema Baraniakova,
Sofia Madrid and
Che Nel.
Baraniakova went 9-4 in singles action in 2025 to earn All-CUSA First Team Singles honors. The junior from Leopoldov, Slovakia, joined Madrid to go 11-2 Â as a doubles pairing and earn an all-league first team doubles designation.
Che Nel earned All-CUSA Freshman honors with doubles wins in three 2025 non-conference matches.
Laura Nadaska,
Izabelle Persson and
Terezia Baraniakova give the Owls three more returning upperclassmen. Nadaska joined Nel in three doubles wins while adding four singles match victories of her own. Persson went 7-5 in singles and 6-3 in doubles, while Baraniakova took four singles match wins.
2026 NEWCOMERS
Rianna Coreisa,
Maria Ivankovic and
Irene Serrano Maestre give KSU three newcomers in 2026.
Coreisa joins the Owls as a mid-year addition from Bucharest, Romania. A third-place finisher at Romanian U18 Championships, Coreisa also achieved a No. 7 Romanian U18 singles ranking before arriving in Kennesaw. Ivankovic, a freshman from Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, joins the Owls as a 2024 Croatian U18 Singles semifinalist. Serrano Maestre hails from Illescas, Spain, and also held a top 10 Spanish U18 standing.
KNOW THE FOE
Indiana opens its season with KSU on Friday after an 8-15 2025 campaign that concluded in a 14
th-place Big Ten finish. DePaul opened its 2026 season a week ago with losses to UC San Diego (5-2) and Grand Canyon (6-1) in Phoenix, Arizona. The Blue Demons finished 2025 at 10-11 and fifth in the Big East.
