KENNESAW, Ga. – The Owls couldn't find the back of the net in 90 minutes, falling to FIU, 2-0, at home.
First Half
The Panthers were on the attack early in the match but were halted by
Charlee Bernal on multiple occasions.
Alana Nesbit had the first scoring chance for the Owls.
Anabel Orozco positioned Nesbit for a shot but was boxed out by FIU's Valery Restrepo.
The Owls pressured the Panthers in the 41
st minute as a host of Owls – including
Aly Bryan – made attempts on goal but could not slip one in.
Both teams were in scoring position in the closing minutes but the half ended 0-0.
Second Half
Both teams fired off at the start of the half until the Panthers finally broke through in the 57
th minute. Bernal miscommunicated on a pass and FIU's Montelene Dymond blasted a shot for the goal.
The Owls had a chance to tie it when Orozco whipped a pass to Nesbit who just missed the opportunity.
FIU added to its lead from a header off Jayden Boelter in the 65
th minute. The 2-0 lead would last until the final whistle.

The Owls will be back on Sunday to host new conference foe Missouri State. The match is scheduled for noon and will be streamed on ESPN+.
