KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State track and field landed six student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Kali Terza,
Natalie Cummings,
Maya Steines and
Laysha Tunti made it on the women's side.
Jase Hunter and
Chinedum Ike earned a spot on the men's team.
Men
Jase Hunter
Interdisciplinary studies | 3.60 GPA
Indoor
- Competed in six meets in the weight throw.
- Never finished worse than seventh in the weight throw.
- Landed a season-best toss of 20.98m (68'10") to finish second at the Mark Colligan Memorial.
- That mark ranked 10th in the NCAA South Region and second in Conference USA this season.
- Collected the silver medal with a toss of 19.39m (63'7.5") at the CUSA Indoor Championships.
Outdoor
- Competed in eight meets in the hammer throw.
- Landed a personal-best throw of 63.01m (206'9") at the Emory Last Chance meet.
- That mark ranked third in CUSA and 40th in the NCAA East Region this season.
- Won the bronze medal with a mark of 60.86m (199'8") at the CUSA Outdoor Championships.
- Finished 40th at NCAA East First Rounds with a throw of 59.53m (195'4").
Chinedum Ike

Indoor
- Competed in four meets in the long jump and triple jump.
- Had season-best marks of 6.44m (21'1.5") and 14.35m (47'1") in the long jump and triple jump at the Vanderbilt Invitational.
- His triple jump mark ranked No. 33 in the NCAA Sout Region this season.
Outdoor
- Competed in five meets in the triple jump.
- Picked up a pair of wins at the Catamount Classic and Emory Qualifier.
- Season-best leap of 15.11m (49'7") came at the Emory Qualifier.
- That mark ranked tied for 20th in the NCAA South Region this season.

Natalie Cummings

Indoor
- Competed in five meets.
- Posted personal-best times in the 1k (2:47.29), Mile (4:40.09) and 3k (9:35.94).
- Her time of 4:40.09 ranked 13th in the NCAA South Region this season.
- Was on the KSU DMR squad that ran 11:23.53 to win the gold medal and set a school and meet record at the CUSA Indoor Championships.
Outdoor
- Competed in seven meets primarily in the 800m and 1500m.
- Posted personal-best times of 2:06.58 (800m) and 4:17.96 (1500m).
- Finished sixth in the 1500m with a time of 4:24.20 at the CUSA Outdoor Championships.
Maya Steines

- Competed in six meets in weight throw and shot put.
- Landed a season-best mark of 18.16m (59'7") in the weight throw at Vanderbilt Invitational.
- That throw ranked 25th in the NCAA South Region this season.
