Owls Welcome Terrific Turnout for Summer KSU Nights

6/20/2025 10:38:00 AM

KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State Athletics and KSU Alumni Association partnered to host banner nights this summer at its annual KSU Nights, located in Marietta and Acworth.

Riding the wave of momentum from its first year in Conference USA, graduates of both SPSU and KSU and KSU Trustees showed their support of the Owls.

Open to all alumni, fans and friends, attendees got to hear from Director of Athletics Milton Overton, head football coach Jerry Mack, head men's basketball coach Antoine Pettway and head women's basketball coach Octavia Blue on all things KSU Athletics, the state of the programs and the future of Owl Nation.

"Any time we are able to get our alumni and head coaches together, it's a win," Executive Director of Alumni & Constituent Engagement Frances Beusse said. "To hear from them directly and not just through TV and press releases, makes our alumni feel special but also let's our coaches know they have great support!"

In the fourth year of Athletics and the Alumni Association partnering to host the KSU Nights receptions, nearly 200 supporters showed up to the events to connect and engage.

"Conference USA plays a huge role in Kennesaw State attaining national prominence," Beusse said. "The goal is that no matter where our alumni are throughout the country, everyone they interact with will have heard of Kennesaw State University."

"Our alumni recognize the value of our tremendous growth and are engaging with the university at higher rates than ever before," she continued. "The KSU Alumni Association can tell this by numerous sold-out events, success of new programs like 40 Owls Under 40, and the number of social media interactions we get around big athletics wins. It truly is a great time to be an owl!"

For any KSU alumni that weren't able to make KSU Nights this summer, there are still plenty of upcoming events around KSU Athletics. KSU Alumni and Athletics are partnering again to host KSU Night at the Braves game on Tuesday, Aug. 19. The Alumni Association is also hosting an away game tailgate at Mack's first game as head coach at Wake Forest on Friday, Aug. 19 in Winston-Salem, N.C. before returning home to host its KSU Alumni Homecoming Tailgate at the Owl's Nest from 3-6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27.
