ATLANTA - The KSU Owl Network, Kennesaw State Athletics' home for broadcasting and creative projects, was recognized as a finalist for seven Sports Video Group College Sports Media Awards, breaking last year's record of six awards. KSU's honors were the most of any school in Conference USA (Liberty - 4).
The finalists were recognized on May 28 in Atlanta during the 17th-annual SVG College Sports Media Awards in association with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics summit.
Maria Trivelpiece, reporter for the American Athletic Conference, hosted this year's ceremony. SVG was founded in 2006 on the premise of promoting the development, production, and dissemination of sports content through community outreach, networking, and educational events. The SVG College Sports Media Awards recognize the top college sports video production teams, events, and features.
The KSU Owl Network is made up of full-time staff members who collaborate heavily with KSU students, alumni, and freelancers to deliver real-time experiences on social media, ESPN, the web, and in-venue.
In addition to full-time staff, Owl Network is also comprised of more than 40 Kennesaw State students, providing real-life sports production and creative experiences to Owls in the community.
SVG, in partnership with NACDA, awards winners in the following categories: outstanding live game production, outstanding live non-game production, outstanding special feature, outstanding cinematic recap, outstanding social media video, and outstanding in-venue video.
KSU's seven finalist honors were the following:
