Trio of Owls Set to Compete at NCAA Track and Field Championships

Outdoor Meet 12: Kennesaw State at 2025 Outdoor National Championships

Starting Blocks
Kennesaw State track and field will have three student-athletes competing in three events at the 2025 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships. The University of Oregon will play host to the NCAA Championships from June 11-14 in Eugene. The men will compete on June 11 and June 13 while the women compete on June 12 and June 14.

Men's100m
Event Schedule: Semifinals– Wednesday at 8:25 p.m. ET | Finals – Friday at 8:52 p.m. ET

Outlook:
The fastest event at the NCAA Championships begins with the semifinals on Wednesday evening. The 24 competitors will compete in three heats of 8 with top two finishers in each heat plus the next three fastest times will advance to Friday's final. Cross has run three fastest times of his career 10.01, 10.09, and 10.12 in three of his last four races. Cross and Drew Duggans are the only two student-athletes in program history to have reached the semifinals at the NCAA Championships in this event.
 
 
Women
Women's Hammer
Event Schedule: Semifinals / Finals – Thursday at 4:30 p.m. ET
 
KSU Competitor: Kali Terza
 
Season-Best Mark: 66.75m (219'0")
 
Outlook:
Terza has rewrote the school record book in the hammer throw since arriving on campus in 2022. In March 2023, she made history becoming the first Owl with a throw over 60m. In 2025, she has competed seven times, collected four wins and has not finished worse than third. She finished runner-up at the CUSA Championship with a mark of 62.88m (206'3"). She landed her personal-best toss of 66.75m (219'0") at NCAA East First Rounds in Jacksonville, Fla. Terza finished 17th in this event at the 2023 NCAA Championships.
 
 
Women's 800m
Event Schedule: Semifinals– Thursday at 10:14 p.m. ET | Finals – Saturday at 10:14 p.m. ET
 
KSU Competitor: Emma Sullivan
 
Season-Best Time: 2:01.71
 
Outlook:
Sullivan is making her inaugural NCAA Championship appearance. She picked up the gold medal in the 800m with a time of 2:02.77 at the CUSA Championships. She qualified for the semifinals with a personal-best time of 2:01.71. Sullivan is the second Owl to reach the semifinals in program history joining Sarah Hendrick, who went 2021, 2022 and 2023. Hendrick reached the podium in 2021 and 2022. The 24 competitors will compete in three heats of eight with top-two finishers in each heat plus the next three fastest times advance to Saturday's final.
