JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Six members of the Kennesaw State women's track and field team competed on the second day of the NCAA East First Rounds Thursday at Visit Jax Track at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University of North Florida.
Ticket Punched
Kali Terza landed a career-best toss of 66.75m (219'0) to finish third in the hammer throw and qualify her for the NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships for the second time in her career. She will compete on Thursday, June 12 in Eugene, Oregon at 4:30 p.m. ET
Running Event Qualifiers for Saturday's Quarterfinals
Emma Sullivan ran a time of 2:02.65 in the 800m to finish eighth overall and advance to Saturday's quarterfinal.
Notable Performances
- Simon Seid closed the book on his junior season with a clearance of 5.18m (17'0") to finish 30th in the pole vault. The men's pole vault was delayed until Tuesday cause of thunderstorms that hit the UNF campus and caused a delay close to five hours.
- Eriana Sanford finished her KSU career today with a toss of 53.76m (176'4") to place 43rd in the hammer throw.
- Rachel Swain concluded her career with a leap of 6.04m (19'09.75") to place 16th in the long jump.
- Emma Ferguson put a bow on her sophomore season finishing 29th in the 1500m with a time of 4:18.49.
Nine men will compete for KSU on day three of the NCAA East First Rounds on Friday, May 30.
