Owls Secure Run-Rule Victory in Regular Season Finale

MARIETTA, Ga. – Kennesaw State's (29-25, 17-9 CUSA) consistent hitting sent them past MTSU (23-32, 8-19 CUSA) as the Owls capped their regular season slate with a 10-0 run-rule victory.

Seniors Nate Anderson, Cam Suto, Hudson Mimbs, Donovan Cash, Tyler Franks, Smith Pinson, and Halton Hardy, as well as managers Luke Crisp and Patrick Walker, were recognized for their hard work and contributions to the baseball program.

The Owls are cemented in the number three spot in the Conference USA tournament with a Wednesday match-up versus FIU on the horizon. The game time has yet to be announced.

How It Happened
Anderson sprayed an infield single toward second base to begin the game. The speedy outfielder then swiped second base on a 0-1 count, extending his lead in stolen bases on the squad. Chirello shot a ball through the middle infield, loading the bases. Williams towering sacrifice fly to right field put the Owls up by one. Suto corkscrewed a double down the left field line, clearing the bases and propelling KSU to a three-run lead.

Posey started the second inning with a double through the left-center gap. With two outs, Chris Cole sent a frozen rope through the middle, scoring Posey and taking a four-run advantage.

Another two-out flurry highlighted the third inning as KSU strung three singles to bring Cam Suto to the plate.

McDuffie and Cash both racked up RBI singles in the fifth stanza to give KSU a 7-0 lead.

In the sixth, Posey collected another RBI as he brought Alig home after his double two batters earlier.

After an Alig double was dropped into the left center gap, Posey screamed a single once again, through the middle to score the Freshman and boosting the by to an 8-0 game.
With runners on first and second base, Alig demolished a double into left center field, scoring both runs and sending KSU to a 10-0 run-rule win.
