DALLAS - Outfielder
Nate Anderson and catcher
Aaron Posey tabbed the program's first Conference USA All-Academic honors, the conference office announced Friday afternoon.
Posey pursuing his BBA in finance, earned a 3.80 GPA, while Anderson, completing his sports management degree, garnered a 3.7 GPA. It's the first time the Owls have registered two All-Academic team members since 2016.
Anderson has been nothing short of impressive this year, leading the team in batting average with a career-high .328 mark with 23 stolen bases, ranking second on CUSA. He currently stands second on the team in OPS with .994 and fourth in the league in runs scored with 55.
Posey has been a mainstay behind the plate for the Owls, playing 42 games with 39 starts, all at catcher. The righty is second on the squad in fielding percentage with seven runners thrown out on the base paths. He demolished just his second homer of his career versus FIU (April 29) while collecting his first four-hit game.
