KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State men's tennis team collected a 5-2 win over Alabama State on Tuesday at the Betty Siegel Courts.
"Great team win today on Senior Day," assistant head coach
Simon Pritchard said. "It was awesome to see Sam step up during his last home match and clinch the match for the team."
KSU honored seniors
Sam Baldwin and
Hugo Salmeron prior to the match.
"I'm very thankful for the two seniors who were honored today," Pritchard said. "They've been pivotal in the success and development of this program during their tenure here at Kennesaw. Thank you, Sam and Hugo."
The Owls won the doubles point with a pair of 6-4 wins on courts one and three by
Mikolaj Lis and
Anthony Weingarten (court one) and
Sam Baldwin and
Erik Vladimirov (court three)
Anthony Weingarten (6-2, 6-3) got the Owls going in singles. Erik Vladmirov needed three sets but picked up KSU's third point with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 victory.
Sam Baldwin clinched the win with a 6-3, 6-4 victory on Senior Day.
Xavi Ferrer closed the match with a 6-2, 6-3 victory.
Next Up
The Owls will head to Alabama to close the regular season at Jacksonville State on Friday, Apr. 11 at noon.
