LYNCHBURG, Va.- The Kennesaw State men's and women's track and field teams began competition on day one of the Conference USA Indoor Championships on Friday.

Men's Heptathlon (Through four events)

• Sean Dyer (2597 points) is in sixth place.

 

Women's Pentathlon (Completed)

• London White secured the bronze medal scoring 3601 points with five personal-best marks.
• Amelia Coker (3476 points) and Laysha Tunti (3355 points) picked up points for KSU taking home fifth and seventh.

 

School Records

• Kenadie Singleton (7.41 seconds) in the 60m
• Samiya Wayne (24.02 seconds) in 200m
• Eric Young II (46.89 seconds) in the 400m

 


Men's Medal Winners

• Kaelen Mitchell was victorious in the long jump with a leap of 7.49m (24"6.75").
• Simon Seid tied for second in the pole vault clearing the bar at 5.05m (16'0.75").
• Jase Hunter landed a toss of 19.39M (63'7.25") to earn the silver in the weight throw.
• Collins Kipkemboi (14;19.27) and Brian Limo (14.20.99) finished second and third in the 5K.

 

Women's Medal Winners

• Rachel Swain won the long jump with a mark of 6.12m (20'0.75").
• Madison Seiler won the silver medal in the 5K with a time of 16:51.19.
• The women's distance medley relay team of Emma Ferguson, Yasmine Martin, Emma Sullivan and Natalie Cummings set a facility and CUSA meet record with a time of 11:23.53 to win the distance medley relay.

 

 
Men's Running Event Qualifiers

• Edwin Kiprono advanced to the mile final with a time of 4:12.29.
• Kiprono also qualified in the 800m with a time of 1:52.94.
• Jeremiah Sims (7.83), Mohamed Diaby (7.96) and Cameron Guadiano (8.01) all advanced to the 60m hurdle final.
• Eric Young II headed to the finals in the 400m with his school record time of 46.89 seconds.
• Chance Cross (6.72) seconds will represent KSU in Saturday's 60m final.
• Eric Young II (21.20) and Trey Geter (21.39 seconds) will run in the 200m final.

 
 
  
Women's Running Event Qualifiers

• Natalie Cummings (4:52.58), Emma Ferguson (4:52.77) , . Akshana (4:53.12) all qualified for the one-mile run final.
• Akerah Jones (8.49), Alina Harris (8.69) and London White (8.69 seconds) all advanced to the 60m hurdle final.
• Kenadie Singleton (7.41) and Samiya Wayne (7.48) will run in the 60m final.
• Wayne will also be in the 200m final with her school-record time of 24.02.
• Emma Sullivan (2:08.91) and . Akshana (2:11.77) will be in the 800m final.

 
 
Next Up
The Owls will begin the final day of competition at the CUSA Indoor Championships on Saturday, Mar. 1 at 10:30 a.m.
