RIO VERDE, Ariz. – Kennesaw State women's golf turned in perhaps its finest round of golf this season as four shot better than 2-over par in Round 2 of the Rio Verde Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls posted a 2-over par team total to jump five places to fourth overall (14-over) in the tournament at the Rio Verde Country Club.
Scorecard
Nyah Kelly stormed out of the gates on Day 2, turning in three birdies to record a 1-under par 71 – her best round of the season – and pulling her to tied for eighth overall among individuals.
Sabrina Kim was right on her heels, turning in another terrific round with three birdies and just two bogeys to finish even for the day and tied with Kelly at No. 8 overall for the tournament.
Right behind them were
Natasha Korman and
Alessandra Nagayo, who turned in a 1-over par 73 and 2-over par 74, respectively, on Day 2 in Arizona. Korman and Nagayo both sit 6-over for the tournament and are tied for 29
th overall.
Hannah Cheryl Alan rounded out the efforts of KSU with a tough-luck 12-over par 84 for the day.
Nobody has done better than Kelly on Par 4's as she's averaged 3.88 strokes per hole and is 2-under par on Par 4's for the tournament. Likewise, only two golfers have been better than Kim on the Par 5's as she's averaged 4.70 strokes per hole and is currently 3-under on Par 5's for the tournament.
As a team, Kennesaw State is third in the field on Par 3's (3.26 – 13-over), sixth in Par 4's (4.11 – 9-over), seventh in number of birdies (19) and third in pars (117).

Kennesaw State will tee off the final round of 18 on Sunday, Feb. 23, beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET.
