KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State (3-8) fell in a hard-fought 3-2 battle against Georgia State during midweek action, despite two solo home runs from Ana Gore. The Owls led for most of the game, but a late rally by the Panthers sealed the loss.

How It Happened

Gore put KSU on the board early, blasting a solo home run in the second inning to give the Owls a 1-0 lead. She struck again in the fourth, sending another solo shot over the fence to extend the lead to 2-0.

Georgia State broke through in the fifth inning, taking advantage of a single and a defensive lapse to plate two runs and even the score. KSU had opportunities to regain the lead but couldn't convert.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Panthers loaded the bases and scored the winning run on a wild pitch, walking off with the victory.

Kenley Hilleary delivered a strong start, tossing four scoreless innings before Georgia State's two-run fifth. Olivia Tyson took over in relief, working out of jams in the late innings, but the Owls couldn't overcome the late deficit.

Quick Hits

  • Ana Gore powered the offense, going 2-for-3 with two solo home runs. This is Gore's second multi-hit game in a row.
