KENNESAW, Ga. – Kennesaw State Athletics enjoyed a strong showing across its fall sports during the 2025 semester, but its achievements in the classroom exhibited an even larger effort and dedication. KSU student-athletes combined to earn a stellar 3.28 GPA with 15 of 16 programs (indoor and outdoor track and field are joined) and 74.4% of student-athletes earned above a 3.0 GPA.
The highest number of Owls to date made the Dean's List (3.5 GPA and above) with 191 earning the honors. A total of 79 student-athletes were Presidential Scholars (4.0 GPA) which comprised 20% of KSU's student-athlete population. Additionally, 296 Owls deserved Top Flight Owls distinction (3.0 GPA and above).
"This was an exciting fall for our teams athletically, but an outstanding term in the classroom. I am amazed by the hard work and dedication of our student-athletes to dig in and accomplish great things as they balance their academic and athletic responsibilities," said Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Success Services (SASS) Dr. Randy Kennedy. "This is our highest ever recorded fall GPA for KSU student-athletes, and I appreciate the work of the SASS staff, coaches, administrators, and faculty in supporting their success!"
The women's tennis team and men's cross country team paced the women's and men's sports by each earning a combined 3.60 GPA.
In addition to winning the Conference USA title this fall, KSU football had the most 4.0 student-athletes with 13, while women's lacrosse (12) and women's track and field (11) also led the charge.
Individually, the Owls were balanced with CUSA all-academic honorees across the board. KSU saw the following individuals earn the distinction: Noah Sybert (cross country), Coleman Bennett (football), Manu Johnsen (volleyball), Alana Nesbit (soccer), and Sydni Whitehead (soccer).
Josh Huiet took home the CUSA Spirit of Service Award that honors student-athletes with significant community service endeavors, good academic standing, and participation in their sport.
KSU also saw the following notable achievements:
- Football: 3.06 GPA was the highest term GPA in program history
- Men's Cross Country: 3.60 GPA was the highest recorded term GPA
- Men's Track: 3.12 GPA was the highest recorded term GPA
- Women's Track: 3.32 GPA was the highest recorded term GPA
- Men's Tennis: 3.44 GPA was the highest term GPA since 2016
- Men's Golf: 3.50 GPA was the highest term GPA since Fall 2017
- Women's Basketball: 3.47 GPA was the highest term GPA since Fall 2020
- Women's Cross Country: 3.55 GPA was the highest term GPA since Fall 2020
- Women's Soccer: 3.54 GPA was the highest term GPA since Fall 2020
- KSU celebrated 24 student-athletes' graduation last week
