DELAND, Fla. – Kennesaw State men's tennis capped off its fall season with a solid showing at the Mad Hatters Invitational, highlighted by strong doubles performances and key singles wins against North Florida, Stetson and Boston College.
The Owls went 2-1 in team doubles and singles over the weekend, falling to North Florida 8-4, defeating Stetson 8-4, and closing with a 6-3 win against Boston College.
Kennesaw State dominated doubles play, sweeping Stetson 4-0 and finishing the weekend with an 8-3 doubles record overall.
Individually, three Owls posted 4-2 overall marks. Dominic Ducariu picked up singles victories against North Florida and Boston College, while Anthony Weingarten and Nathan Walters each earned singles wins over Stetson and Boston College.
"The guys did a good job this weekend competing hard and finding a way to get some great results without playing their best tennis," associate head coach Simon Pritchard said. "Two of the three teams we played this weekend, we will get to play again in the spring – so it was a good way for them to get a feel for where their level needs to be and to build some momentum heading into next semester."
The Mad Hatters Invitational marked the conclusion of Kennesaw State's fall schedule. The Owls will take the winter off before the dual-match season begins on Jan. 24 when KSU host Presbyterian. First serve is set for 1 p.m.
