KENNESAW, Ga. – After getting back in the win column, Kennesaw State women's basketball will travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. for its first-ever matchup against the Crimson Tide.

Shania Nichols had her second 20-point performance as an Owl in the 55-41 win over USC Upstate. She is one of two CUSA players with five-plus 3-pointers in multiple games this season (Jianna Morris, LA Tech).

As a team, the Owls shot a season-high 92.3% at the free throw line, going 12-of-13. Keyarah Berry recorded her second straight double-double, scoring 10 points and hauling 12 boards. She also recorded a career high five steals.

Alabama has started the season 7-0, most recently winning the Pink Flamingo Championships Junkanoo Division over Minnesota. In that contest over the Golden Gophers, Essence Cody led the Crimson Tide with 18 points and six rebounds. She won the tournament's most valuable player award.

Tip-off is set for 12:00 p.m. on ESPN+.

Berry Nice
After being named to the CUSA Preseason Team, graduate guard Keyarah Berry is living up to the hype. She has recorded back-to-back double-doubles for the first time in her career, doing so against South Alabama and USC Upstate. She is also contributing on the defensive end, recording a career high five steals against the Spartans. Berry currently ranks second in CUSA in scoring (16.8 points per game), third in steals (3.2) and sixth in field goal percentage (46.4%).

Lockdown Defense
Effort has been a calling card of the Owls under head coach Octavia Blue. KSU has forced 15-plus turnovers in five games and held their opponent to under 40% shooting in four contests. Among CUSA teams, KSU ranks first in opponent rebounds (29.8), second in scoring defense (55.8) and fourth in turnover margin (+2.67).

Sharpshooter
Junior transfer Shania Nichols has made her impact on the program. In KSU's last game against USC Upstate, she led all players with 20 points, going 5-of-6 from behind the arc. This is her second 20-point, five 3-pointers performance of the season, doing so in the season opener against Shorter. She is one of two CUSA players with multiple five-plus 3-pointers games this season (Jianna Morris, LA Tech).

Back to Form
After missing all of last year with a season-ending injury, redshirt sophomore Trynce Taylor has shined in her return. Against Tennessee Tech, she hit the game winner to take down the undefeated Golden Eagles. In that contest, she scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds. At ETSU, she corralled a career high 12 rebounds. Taylor is averaging 9.7 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game.

Tennessee Takeover
Tennessee native Latazia Williamson had a career day for the Owls in their win over ETSU. The junior popped off for 20 points, shattering her previous career high. In the third quarter alone, she posted 10 points including eight unanswered to close out the quarter.
