HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — The Kennesaw State men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their seasons Friday morning at the NCAA South Regionals at John Hunt Park.
The women placed 10th, marking the best finish at the regional meet in program history. The men finished 12th, their highest placement since 2010.
Madison Seiler once again led the women, finishing 34th in 20:05.85. Emma Ferguson placed 63rd in 21:00.08, followed by Akansha at 85th in 21:17.28. In her final collegiate cross country race, Riley Perlakowski took 96th in 21:23.74. Samantha Magarity rounded out the team scoring with a 106th-place finish in 21:31.65.
In the men's 10K, Brian Limo earned All-Region honors for the second straight year, placing 17th in 30:05.85. Collins Kipkemboi finished 26th in 30:21.58, while sophomore Edwin Kirono crossed in 51st with a time of 31:11.15. Head Coach Adam Bray
On the women's team performance:
"I was really proud of how our women bounced back after our conference meet two weeks ago. They raced with confidence and improved upon their marks from just two weeks ago at the same course. We ended up 10th, and that is the best team finish at the South Region by a KSU women's cross country team in program history. I'm very proud of this group of young women for the path they are trailblazing for future Owls. Their overall record is 137 wins to 23 losses — I think that really makes a statement."
On the men's team performance:
"Our men battled through rising temperatures, and obviously 10,000 meters is a hard enough race. I thought they gave it their all, but we came up a little short of our individual goals. Brian was 17th and earned All-Region honors for the second year in a row, and we are all very proud of him. This group finished 12th overall, which is our best finish in quite some time. We are moving in the right direction, and I'm excited for the track season."

The Owls will return to action Saturday, Nov. 22, at the NCAA Championships in Columbia, Mo., if Limo qualifies. If not, they will resume competition Friday, Dec. 6, when the indoor track and field season begins at the Clemson Opener.
