SPARTANBURG, S.C.– The Kennesaw State women's tennis team closed the fall portion of the 2025-26 schedule winning 25 matches at the Wofford Terrier Invite over the weekend.
The Owls won two singles flights and one doubles draw in the three-day event.
Singles action saw
Sofia Madrid and
Maria Ivankovic post 3-0 records to win their flights. Madrid picked up a 6-2, 6-4 win over Wofford and a 6-2, 7-5 win over Maria Turchetto of Liberty to reach the finals. In the final, the senior came from behind to beat Angelina Hug of UNC Asheville by a score of 3-6, 6-2, 10-4.
Ivankovic opened with a 4-6, 6-2, 10-3 win against Wofford. She then picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win over Sophie Clayton (Clemson) to earn a sport in the final. In Sunday's final, the freshman beat Celina Joseph of Liberty in straight sets 6-2, 6-3 to win her the first flight of her collegiate tournament career.
Terezia Baraniakova and
Irene Serrano both finished 2-1 in singles action and reached the finals of their flights.
Ema Baraniakova led 5-0 in the first set of the 3-4 match in her flight before her opponent had to retire due to injury. Baraniakova finished 2-1 in singles.
Izabelle Persson closed her final fall in an Owl uniform going 2-1 in singles action. She picked up a straight-sets win over a player from UNC Ashville to place third in her flight.

Ema Baraniakova picked up wins over players from Mercer (6-1), Wofford (6-2) and UNC Asheville (6-2) to win their flight.
