Ema Baraniakova has been named the Conference USA Women's Tennis Player of the Month for October, the league announced Tuesday.
Baraniakova posted an 8-4 record in singles and went 5-4 in doubles play across three tournaments during the month.
At the ITA Southeast Regionals, she earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Florida State's Abby Kelliher in the Round of 64 before taking Georgia Tech's Alejandra Cruz—ranked No. 9 in the ITA Women's Southeast Rankings—to three sets in the Round of 32, falling 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.
Baraniakova continued her strong form at the RTC Collegiate Invite. After a hard-fought 1-6, 6-7 loss to LSU's Alexia Marginean in the opening round, she bounced back with a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 win over Clemson's Artemis Aslanisvili. She carried that momentum into Saturday's match, defeating North Carolina's Mary Grace Rennard 6-2, 6-3. Baraniakova also collected two singles victories and two doubles wins at the Stetson Invite II.
Kennesaw State wrapped up its fall schedule last weekend at the Wofford Invite.
