Weingarten, Vladimirov Reach Semifinals at Mercer Gridiron Classic

MACON, Ga. – Four members of the Kennesaw State men's tennis team competed at the Mercer Gridiron Classic, held Friday through Sunday.

Anthony Weingarten advanced to the semifinals of the A1 draw after a 6-1, 7-5 win over ETSU and a 6-1, 6-4 victory against Timo De Visser of Jacksonville State.

Erik Vladimirov reached the semifinals of the B1 draw with a 6-4, 6-0 win over ETSU and a come-from-behind 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory over Zach Murphy of Jacksonville State. He went on to finish third, defeating Martin Delnido of Chattanooga 6-2, 6-3.

Dominic Ducariu, a freshman, picked up a 6-1, 6-4 win over Filip Kana of Florida Southern and closed the weekend with a 6-1, 7-6 (7-4) victory against Amen Prince Gandonou of Mercer.

Ben Hudson added to the Owls' success with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Walker Allen of Furman.
