LOXLEY, Ala. – Shaun Cook and Hunter Gillard led the Kennesaw State men's golf team Saturday at the Steelwood Collegiate, hosted at Steelwood Country Club.
Teams completed 36 holes on Saturday and began third-round play early in an effort to get ahead of inclement weather expected Sunday in Alabama.
The Owls carded rounds of 293 and 291 for an 8-over-par total of 584 after 36 holes. KSU was 1-under as a team early in the third round before play was suspended due to darkness. The Owls sit in 13th place heading into the final day.
Cook opened with rounds of 72 and 71, while Gillard added scores of 70 and 72. Cook is 1-under through five holes in round three, and Gillard is even through four. Cook has recorded 28 pars in 41 holes, while Gillard has tallied 11 birdies on the day. Both Owls are 2-under par and tied for 12th individually.
Kyle Bachkosky posted rounds of 74 and 73 and entered the third round at 3-over par. He eagled his final hole of the day and currently sits in 37th place.
Luca Gallingani turned in rounds of 77 and 75 and is 1-over through four holes in round three, placing him 67th at 9-over par.
Walker Gantt (81-77) is also 1-over through four holes in round three and currently stands in 77th place.
Round three is scheduled to resume Sunday, Oct. 26, at 9 a.m. CT.
