Owls Post Several Strong Performances at Pair of Meets Friday

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Kennesaw State men's and women's track and field teams opened competition at the Bob Pollock Invitational and the John Thomas Terrier Classic Friday.

Men's Top Performances
  • Jase Hunter took fifth with a mark of 19.87m (65'2.25") in the weight throw. Harrison Pawsat landed a toss of 18.09m (59'4.25") to finish eighth.
  • Kaelen Mitchell landed a mark of 6.95m (22'9.75") to finish seventh in the long jump.
  • Mohamed Diaby (7.83 seconds) and Jeremiah Sims (7.86 seconds) took fourth and fifth in the 60m hurdles final. Diaby ran a season-best time of 7.79 seconds in the semifinals.
  • Trey Geter (6.85 seconds) finished 16th in the 60m.
 
 
 Women's Top Performances
  • Akerah Jones (8.703 seconds) and Alina Harris (8.708 seconds) 16th and 17th in the 60m hurdles.
  • Eriana Sanford landed a personal-best toss of 19.87m (65'2.25") to finish third in the weight throw.
  • Samiya Wayne ran a time of 7.52 seconds to take 15th in the 60m.
  • Miah Johnson ran a personal best time of 5:03.56 to place 20th in the one-mile run.
 
John Thomas Terrier Classic
Six KSU distance runners competed in Boston Friday.
  • Natalie Cummings (4:40.09), Emma Ferguson (4:48.55) and . Akshana (4:49.75) all ran personal-best times in the one-mile run finishing 22nd, 39th and 48th respectively.
  • Emma Sullivan ran a personal-best time of 2:05.15 to secure 20th in the 800m.
  • Madigan Wallace finished 59th in the 3k in a personal-best time of 9:43.89.
  • Madison Seiler posted a personal-best time of 16:39.77  to finish 33rd in the 5K.

The Owls will finish  competition at the Bob Pollock Invitational and John Thomas Terrier Classic on Saturday, Feb.1.
