DALLAS - Sophomore relief pitcher
Bo Rhudy was selected to the Conference USA Baseball Preseason All-Conference Team, serving as the first CUSA award in program history, the league announced Thursday afternoon.
Rhudy burst onto the scene as a freshman, racking up a 4-1 record on 19 appearances with six saves out of the bullpen. The righty posted a 2.78 ERA in his 35.2 innings of work, collecting 32 strikeouts. Among qualified pitchers, he led the team in opp. batting average with a .190 mark, only allowing 11 earned runs on the season.
The Chickamauga, Ga. native earned a stockpile of awards in his first season earning Atlantic Sun All-Freshman Team, Atlantic Sun All-Tournament Team and All-Atlantic Sun First Team, receiving the most votes of any relief pitcher in the league.
KSU was picked to finish sixth out of 10 in the preseason coaches poll with 54 points.
Kennesaw State begins the season Friday, Feb. 14 for a three-game set at S. Walter Kelly Sr. Memorial Field versus Rutgers.
