WAYNESVILLE, N.C. –
Claes Borregaard highlighted the Kennesaw State men's golf team's second round of the J.T. Poston Invitational at the Waynesville Inn and Golf Club on Monday.

"What a day for Claes on the course, setting a new program record with an incredible 62," head coach Bryant Odom said. "He's been healthy this fall, and we've seen him put up similar numbers at home. Going deep under par in tournament play is truly elite. Hunter also turned in another solid round at 1-under par. These type of fast greens bring out his best. Overall, our lineup has shown impressive consistency. With challenging weather in the forecast for tomorrow, we'll need everyone's contribution once again. Today was a special moment for both Claes and the program, and I know there's more to come."

The Owls are tied for third after a 5-under par round of 275. KSU sits at 3-under par 557 through 36 holes. KSU's score of 557  through 36 holes established a new program record on a par-70 course.  Lipscomb leads the 15-team field at 17-under par 544.

Borregaard rolled in eight birdies, an eagle and seven pars for an 8-under par round of 62. That round set a school record on a par-70 course.  His 8-under par total tied for the lowest under-par score in any round in program history. His 36-hole total score of 6-under par 134 also established a new school record on a par-70 course. He is in third place.
