KENNESAW, Ga. – Paris Williams has been named assistant track and field coach, Kennesaw State director of track and field Cale McDaniel announced on Monday.

Williams will coach the sprints and relays.

"The opportunity to hire one of our own was something as a staff we couldn't pass up," McDaniel said. "Paris is the very definition of an OWL, his passion for our sport and unwavering love for Kennesaw State is undeniable. I appreciate everything he has done for this program over the years and I'm excited to see him grow into this new role. Paris will only enhance our ability to bring titles back to the Nest."

Williams joins KSU full time after spending the 2023-24 season assisting Rachael Coelho with KSU's combined events and hurdles groups.

During the 2023-24 season, Williams coached five athletes to gold medals at ASUN Conference Championships. The Owls won the men's and women's team titles at the ASUN Indoor and Outdoor Championships.

"I am super excited to coach this group and be a part of this respected program, especially being an alumnus and coached by the same people currently on staff," Williams said. "I've always enjoyed my time at KSU winning championships and now it's time to be on the other side and produce some champions! I believe this staff and I can do a lot of great things and I can't wait to get started!"

Williams competed at Kennesaw State from 2016-21, qualifying for the NCAA Indoor Championships in 2020. He was a seven-time ASUN individual champion and was named ASUN Most Outstanding Performer twice. During the 2020 indoor season, he recorded the 12th fastest time in the NCAA that season in the 60m hurdles with a time of 7.72 seconds.  During his Owl career, Williams helped KSU win two ASUN Conference indoor titles and two outdoor titles and set multiple school records.

Williams has competed professionally since 2021. He has raced in the 60m hurdles at the U.S. Indoor Championships and the 110m hurdles at the U.S. Outdoor Championships. He participated in the 2021 and 2024 U.S. Olympic Trials.
