10 Owls Collect CSC Academic All-District Honors

KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State track and field landed ten student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, the organization announced Tuesday.

Kali Terza, Natalie Cummings, Hannah Judge, Rachael Ruff and Laysha Tunti made it on the women's side. Malik Hussie, Caleb Hartley, Zachary Peterson, Mitchell Ratley and Jase Hunter were named to the men's All-District Team.
 
Men
Caleb Hartley
  • 3.84 GPA | Construction Management
 
Indoor
  • Competed in five meets in shot put and weight throw.
  • Never finished worse than ninth in shot put or weight throw.
  • Won the shot put with a toss of 17.50m (57'5") and took home sixth in the weight throw with a personal-best toss of 18.11m (59'5") at the ASUN Indoor Championships.
  • Finished the season with the top shot put mark in the ASUN of 17.51m (59'5.5") at the South Carolina Invitational.
 
Outdoor
  • Competed in six meets in shot put and hammer throw.
  • Never finished worse than eighth in shot put.
  • Won the shot put with a toss of 18.14m (59'6.25") and took home sixth in the hammer throw with a season-best toss of 52.68m (172'10") at the ASUN Outdoor Championships.
  • His shot put mark of 18.14m ranks tops in the ASUN and 40th in the NCAA East Region this season.
 
Jase Hunter
  • 3.84 GPA | Construction Management
 
Indoor
  • Competed in six meets in the weight throw.
  • Never finished worse than fifth in the weight throw.
  • Finished second in the weight throw with a personal-best toss of 20.75m (68'1") at the ASUN Indoor Championships.
  • That mark ranked sixth in the South Region this season.
 
 
Malik Hussie
  • 3.78 | Sport Management
Indoor
  • Competed in four meets.
  • Established new school records in the 300m (34.98), 400m (47.66), 600m (1:19.91) this season.
  • Won the 200m (21.53), 4x400m relay (3:14.05), and was third in the 400m (47.66) at ASUN Indoor Championships.
 
Outdoor
  • Competed in six meets.
  • Established a school record in the 400m with a time of 46.38 seconds.
  • That time ranks second in the ASUN and 40th in the NCAA East Region.
  • At the ASUN Outdoor Championships, he secured the gold medal in the 4x400m (3:09.57) and silver medals in the 400m (46.38 seconds) and the 4x100m relay (40.01 seconds).
 
Zachary Peterson

Indoor
  • Competed in the weight throw in six meets.
  • Did not finish worse than 10th in the weight throw.
  • Finished third in the weight throw with a toss of 20.13m (66' 0.5") at the ASUN Indoor Championship.
  • That mark ranked 10th in the South Region.
 Outdoor
  • Competed in the hammer throw in seven meets.
  • Won the hammer throw at the Jim Green Invitational with a career-best toss of 62.84m (206'2").
  • That toss ranks first in the ASUN and 37th in the NCAA East Region this season.
  • Won the hammer throw at the ASUN Outdoor Championships with a mark of 61.44m (201'7").
 
Mitchell Ratley

  • Competed in the weight throw and shot put in five meets.
  • Finished with the 28th ranked mark in the shot put in the South Region of 15.43m (50' 7.5").
  • Had the 32nd best mark in the weight throw in the South Region with a toss of 16.12m (52'10.75").
  • Finished fourth in the shot put and eighth in the weight throw at the ASUN Indoor Championships.
 
Outdoor
  • Placed fifth in the shot put and discus at the ASUN Outdoor Championships

Natalie Cummings

  • Won the wight throw at the South Carolina Invitational.
  • Won the weight throw at the ASUN Indoor Championships with a personal-best mark of 20.59m (67'6.75"). That mark set a new school, conference championship and facility record. It also ranked No. 40 in the NCAA this season.
 
Hannah Judge

Indoor
  • Competed in the weight throw in five meets.
  • Did not finish worse than 21st in the weight throw.
  • Her season-best mark of 15.64m (51'3.75") ranked 48th in the South Region.
 
 Outdoor
  • Competed in the hammer throw in six meets.
  • Did not finish worse than eighth in the hammer throw.
  • Won the hammer throw at the ASUN Outdoor Championships with a personal-best mark of 55.84m (183'2").
  • That mark ranked first in the ASUN this season.
 
Rachael Ruff

Indoor
  • Competed in four meets in pole vault.
  • Won the pole vault at the ASUN Indoor Championships with a personal-best mark of  3.72m (12'2.5").
  • That mark ranked 24th in the South Region
 
 
 
Laysha Tunti

Indoor
  • Her 3212 points in the heptathlon ranked 24th in the South Region this season.
 Outdoor
  • Competed in five meets.
  • Had personal-best marks in the long jump, 200m and 100m hurdles.
  • Finished third in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.42 seconds at the ASUN Outdoor Championships.
  • Ran a personal-best time of 14.31 seconds in the 100m hurdle prelims.
  • That time of 14.31 seconds ranks fourth in the ASUN this season.
