KENNESAW, Ga. — Kennesaw State freshmen
Maya Steines,
Sean Dyer,
Mohamed Diaby and
Zane Gibson will compete at the USATF U20 Championships in Eugene, Ore., Wednesday and Thursday. The meet will be available to stream on USATF.TV.
Diaby will compete in the 110m hurdles. Dyer will race in the men's 400m hurdles and Steines will be in the hammer throw and discus. Gibson will be in the men's pole vault. The women's hammer throw and men's pole vault final is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m. ET Wednesday with the discus final beginning at 6 p.m. The first round of the men's 400m hurdles is slated for an 8:02 p.m. ET start on Wednesday, with the finals at 8:52 p.m. ET on Thursday. The first round of the men's 110m hurdles is scheduled for 8:03 p.m. ET on Thursday, with the finals to follow at 9:27 p.m. ET.
Steines qualified for this event with personal-best marks of 48.52m (159'2") in the hammer throw and 46.45m (152'5") in the discus throw at the ASUN Outdoor Championships last month. She won the gold medal in the discus at the ASUN Championships.
Dyer was the gold medalist in the 400m in a time of 51.98 seconds at the ASUN Championships.
Diaby ran his season-best time of 14.12 seconds to finish second in the 110m hurdles at the ASUN Championships.
Gibson qualified with a mark of 5.00m (16'4.75") he cleared at the Crimson Tide Invitational.
Kennesaw State signee Evan Martinez will compete in the men's hammer throw (1 p.m.ET) and the discus (7 p.m. ET) on Wednesday and shot put on Thursday (9:00 p.m. ET).
Martinez along with fellow KSU signee Braden Garrison will participate in the shot put on Friday (2:30 p.m. ET) at Hayward in the Nike Outdoor Nationals meet.
