Outdoor Meet 10: Kennesaw State at ASUN Outdoor Championships

THE START LINE
The Kennesaw State track and field teams are set to compete at the Atlantic Sun Conference Outdoor Championships on May 9-11 in Conway, Ark.
 
The men's team will be looking to collect its 10th conference title while the women will look to add their fourth to the trophy case.
 
The meet will start Thursday at 11:30 a.m. (CT) with the decathlon 100-meter dash. It will finish Saturday around 8:55 p.m. (CT) with the men's 4 x 400 relay.

This is KSU's last ASUN Outdoor Championship before moving into Conference USA on July 1, 2024. 
 
 
THE FIELD
Men's Field: Bellarmine, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb  North Florida and Queens
Women's Field: Austin Peay, Bellarmine, Central Arkansas, Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, North Florida and Queens
 
LAST TEAM INDOOR MEET
KSU wrapped up the regular season at the East Coast Relays. The Owls had several top 10 finishes and personal-best performances.
 
NEXT UP
Athletes who rank among the top 48 in their respective event earn a berth into the NCAA East Preliminary Rounds in Lexington, Ky. May 24-27. In addition, the best 24 relays times advance to the NCAA First Rounds. Athletes with the top 12 times/marks and the best 12 relay teams at both the East and West First Rounds sites will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Ore. The decathlon and heptathlon will not be held during the NCAA Preliminary Rounds. Instead, the top 24 decathlon and heptathlon scores in the nation earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Championship site.
 
NEWS AND NOTES
» The Owls have the top marks in the ASUN in 10 events on the men's side and four events on the women's side.
 
» The Owls have 10 athletes ranked in the top 48 in the NCAA East Region this season.
 
» KSU enters the weekend ranked 10th (men) and 11th (women) in the NCAA South Region.
 
» Simon Seid ranks 48th in the NCAA this season in the pole vault with a mark of 5.27m (17'3.5").
