AUBURN, Ala. – The Owls took on the difficult Auburn course as the finished day one in 11th place with a 317 team score in the NCAA Auburn Regional Monday afternoon.
The leader of the day for the Black and Gold was
Bella Kil as she tallied a four-over 76 after 18 holes. Her individual placement is tied for 26th.
She ended with the lone birdie of the day on the 16th hole (Front and back nine's were flipped) as the senior carded only four strokes on the par five.
Not far behind her was the freshman
Alessandra Nagayo as she cemented a six-over 78 and ended in the top 45. Nagayo earned 12 pars on the round.
The remaining three shot an 81 (
Lara Jecnik), 82 (
Nyah Kelly) and a 90 (
Caitlyn Campbell-Nyman).
Regional History
KSU was unable to play in their most recent regional in 2021 as the Baton Rouge tournament was canceled. That means the final regional the Owls have competed in was at Saugahatchee Country Club; Opelika, Ala. in 2019.
The Owls shot 905 (+41) as the finished 14th in the 18 team field. The 14th place finished marked the third straight regional finish the Owls have finished in the 14th spot (2015, 2018 & 2019).
2018's NCAA Regional proved to be the Owls' best performances as they finished with an 21-over 885 team score, 13 strokes better than their next closest (2015). To keep up with the latest
