KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State Department of Athletics has announced nominations for the next KSU Athletics Hall of Fame class are now open. Nominations will be accepted
here through May 31 at 5 p.m. The KSU Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2024 will be inducted this fall at the Hall of Fame ceremony prior to a home football game, at a date TBD.
Categories of Inductees
- Student-Athlete (Athletic Achievement) - A former student-athlete from either Kennesaw State University or Southern Polytechnic State University is eligible for nomination a minimum of five years following the graduation of his/her class (graduation of a nominee is mandatory). To be considered, a student-athlete must have achieved at least one of the following: National Player of the Year, National Collegiate Champion (as an individual or in a team sport), All-American Team selection, All-Region, Conference Player of the Year, All-Conference, post-season championship honors, Academic All-American, U.S. Olympic/National Team member, or recognition by a national Hall of Fame.
- Exceptions to mandatory graduation would be:
- If a student-athlete completes eligibility at Kennesaw State University or Southern Polytechnic State University and transfers to complete a degree at another school because the University did not offer the desired degree at that time.
- Student-Athlete (Professional Achievement) - A former student-athlete is eligible for nomination a minimum of five years following his/her departure from Kennesaw State University or Southern Polytechnic State University. To be considered, a student-athlete must have brought recognition to Kennesaw State University or Southern Polytechnic State University by distinguishing him/herself in a professional field other than and/or including professional athletics.
- Coach or Administrator - The individual must have served Kennesaw State University Department of Athletics or Southern Polytechnic State University Department of Athletics in some capacity a minimum of five years. A coach may be nominated at any time based upon exceptional achievement.
- Distinguished Service - Special recognition for distinguished service may be given for exceptional contributions and service to the Kennesaw State University Department of Athletics or Southern Polytechnic State University Department of Athletics.
- Athletic Team - Entire teams may be inducted based upon winning a National Championship, a conference or regional tournament, or otherwise exceptional achievement.
- Posthumous Award - Nominations and induction may be posthumously awarded.
