FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Kennesaw State women's tennis team traveled south to face Austin Peay in the quarterfinals of the ASUN conference championship on Friday morning. KSU fell 4-1 at the FGCU Tennis Complex.

The loss ended the Owls season. A season in which KSU finished 12-8 overall and 7-0 in home. The Owls have now had three consecutive winning seasons for just the second time in the Division I era.

How It Happened
Austin Peay gained the first match point by succeeding in the doubles competition. The Governors then gained three singles match points to claim victory over the Owls.

The duo of Sophia Unger and Izabelle Persson commanded court two in the doubles competition defeating Jana Lede and Luca Bohlen (APSU) 6-3. Izabelle Persson remained dominant on court five in singles competition, defeating Luca Bohlen 6-1, 6-4, gaining the solo point for the Owls.

Next Up
KSU will move to Conference USA on July 1, 2024 The Owls will return in the fall for tournament play. The spring dual-match season will begin in late January 2025. Based on the Conference USA schedule format the Owls 2025 schedule will consist of only non-conference match ups leading up to the 2025 CUSA Tournament. The Owls 2024-25 schedule is to be determined.
