ATLANTA - Following a complete-game victory Sunday, righty Smith Pinson was tabbed as Atlantic Sun Pitcher of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

The junior pitched all 8.0 innings of the Owls' 11-1 run-rule win to secure a series sweep of Central Arkansas. He faced 28 batters and allowed just three hits and zero earned runs with a season-high nine strikeouts.

This marks the Leesburg, Ga. native's first Atlantic Sun award since being named to the ASUN All-Freshman team in 2022.

Pinson becomes the second Owl to win the honor this season, joining fellow weekend starter Braden Osbolt who earned the award on March 11. Kennesaw State has three weekly ASUN honors in 2024 and now 10 under head coach Ryan Coe.

KSU allowed a combined five runs in its three games against the Bears this past weekend.

Kennesaw State gears up for a pair of in-state midweek showdowns beginning Tuesday, April 16 at Georgia State followed by a home battle with Georgia Southern at 6:00 p.m. on April 17. Fans can catch the action on ESPN+ or purchase tickets here.
