KENNESAW, Ga. – Emma Sullivan,
Kaelen Mitchell and
Sean Dyer collected Atlantic Sun Track and Field Athlete of the Week honors for their performances at the Don McGarey Invitational, the conference announced Wednesday.
Sullivan was named ASUN Women's Track Athlete of the Week. She won the 800m in a time of 2:07.30. That time ranks first in the ASUN, 13
th in the NCAA East Region and 20
th in NCAA this season. She also ran a leg on the Owls 4x400m relay team that took fourth in 3:47.16.
Mitchell secured ASUN Men's Field Athlete of the Week honors. He won the long jump with a mark of 7.57m (-2.1) (24'10"). That mark ranks first in the ASUN and fourth in the NCAA East Region this season. He finished sixth in the triple jump with a personal-best mark of 14.15m (1.9) (46' 5.25"). That mark ranks third in the ASUN and 51
st in the NCAA East Region this season.
Dyer earned the ASUN Men's Freshman of the Week honor. He won the 400m hurdles with a time of 53.77 seconds. That mark is tops in the ASUN and 40
th in the NCAA East Region this season. He posted a time of 49.54 seconds to secure eighth in the 400m. That time ranks fourth in the ASUN this season.
The Owls will host the Kennesaw State Invitational on Friday, March 29
th at the Kennesaw State Outdoor Track and Field Complex.
