KENNESAW, Ga. – The Kennesaw State track and field teams began action at the Don McGarey Invitational on Friday.

Event Winners

• Sophomore Kaylee Clark won the women's javelin with a toss of 42.10m (138'01").
• Zachary Peterson landed a mark of 60.46m (198'4") to win the men's hammer throw.
• Emma Ferguson ran 4:36.40 to win the women's 1500m.
• Amelia Coker posted a time of 1:02.51 to win the 400m hurdles.

 
 
Men's Top Performances

• Malik Hussie (21.76 seconds), Trey Geter (22.23 seconds), Xavier Parris (22.30 seconds) and Chance Cross (23.32 seconds) finished second, fifth, sixth in and seventh in the 200m.
• Sean Dyer (53.77 seconds) and Ian Jackson (55.25 seconds) took second and sixth in the 400m hurdles.
• Quann Shears (58.20m |190'11"), Reese Burton (56m | 183'08"), Aidan Boyd (55.11m | 180'9") took second, third and fourth in the javelin.\
• Joesph Pontrelli ran 15:29.96 to take fourth in the 5k.

 
Women's Top Performances

• Samiya Wayne (24.94 seconds), Kyndall Hudson (25.34 seconds), Alana Mack (25.43 seconds) and Kenadie Singleton (25.90 seconds) secured second, fifth, seventh and ninth in the 200m.
• Ciara Miles ran a time of 4:39.34 to finish second in the 1500m.
• Samantha Hennen (18:04.00) and Samantha Burmeister (18:45.01) finished second and seventh in the 5k.
• Hannah Judge landed a toss of 52.00m (170'07") to finish third in the hammer throw.
• Cadence Huntsinger landed a toss of 34.12m (111'11") to secure fifth in the javelin.
• Tayla Moreland (5.83m | 19'1.50"), Kaylan McConnehead (5.47m | 17'11.50") and Laysha Tunti (5.47m | 17'11.50") took home second, fifth and sixth in the long jump.
• Megan Fergusson and Keira Height both cleared 3.30m (10'10") in the pole vault taking home fourth and sixth in the pole vault.

 
The Owls will conclude competition at the Don McGarey Invitational on Saturday, March 23.
