Owls Set to Begin Atlantic Sun Conference Play with Two Matches

KENNESAW, Ga. - The Kennesaw State women's tennis team will begin Atlantic Sun Conference play this Wednesday and Friday against North Florida and Central Arkansas.
 
Match 9: Kennesaw State (4-4) at  North Florida (5-6)
Date: Wednesday, March 13; 11:00 a.m.

Match 10: Kennesaw State (4-4) vs. Central Arkansas (7-6)
Date: Friday, March 15; 10:00 a.m.

Series History
Wednesday's match against North Florida will be the 19th meeting between the two teams. The teams met last season in which the Ospreys were able to obtain the 6-1 win over the Owls.
 
Friday's match against Central Arkansas will be the second meeting between the two teams. The Owls are seeking to tie the all-time series record.  KSU last competed with UCA in the 2021-2022 season and fell 5-2.
 
Scouting North Florida
The Ospreys went 18-7 overall and 7-1 in the ASUN conference last season. UNF lost 4-2 to Furman on March 7.
 
Scouting Central Arkansas
The Bears went 12-10 overall and 4-4 in the ASUN conference last season. UCA enters play Friday winners of three consecutive matches.
 
Last Time Out (vs. Jacksonville)
Kennesaw State came into the match strong, securing the doubles point. Freshman and vet duo Ema Baraniakova and Taylor Dean added another doubles win to their books after claiming the 6-3 victory over Dariana Prato/Irene Artigas Taberner (JAX). Junior and freshman duo Sophia Unger and Ivana Gresova finalized the doubles point defeating Serafima Shastova/Martina Zarza (JAX) 6-3.
 
In singles play the Owls continued to dominate the Gamecocks. Sophia Unger defeated Martina Zarza  6-2, 6-2 to give KSU their first singles point. Ema Baraniakova followed in pursuit, defeating Anna Syrova  4-6, 6-2, 6-0. Laura Nadaska brought the Owls their last singles point to bring in the win, defeating Ella Tuomela 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.
 
Next Up:
The Kennesaw State women's tennis team prepares to take on North Alabama on Friday, Mar. 22 at the Betty Siegel Courts. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m.
