Owls Finish Tied for Sixth at Auburn Invitational

AUBURN, Ala. – 
The Kennesaw State men's golf team finished play at the Tiger Invitational at the Auburn University Club on Tuesday.
 
Play was halted during the second round due to darkness on Monday evening. The second round was finished and final round was played in its entirety on Tuesday.
 
The Owls carded a 14-over par total of 302 in round two and a 20-over par total of 308 in the final round for a 54-hole total of 54-over par 918. The Owls tied for sixth with Lipscomb.
 
"Some of the most brutal and challenging conditions I've seen in college golf," head coach Bryant Odom said. "I am proud of how the team fought each day and gave their best focus. Claes is gaining on an individual win and once again found himself in contention. We are all looking forward to our favorite event of the season at The Linger Longer Invitational.
 
Claes Borregaard was the Owls top finisher in the event. After rounds of 75-75, he closed with 10 pars and five birdies to post a 2-under par 70. His round of 70 tied for the lowest round shot by any player in the field. He finished tied for third at 4-over par 216 and earned a spot on the All-Tournament team. He finished with 33 pars and nine birdies in the 54-hole event. His nine birdies rank ninth and his 4.58 scoring average ranked second in the field.
 
Shaun Cook carded a 73 in round two and 3-over 75 in round three to finish tied for 18th at 11-over par 227.
 
Hugo Lari (77-81) tied for 39th at 15-over par 231.
 
Hunter Gilllard (242) and Josh Todd (247) tied for 73rd and 87th respectively.
