KENNESAW, Ga - The Kennesaw State women's tennis team clinched its first win of the season against Alabama State Friday. The Owls secured the final point in a thrilling match showdown to earn a 4-3 victory.
 
How it Happened
The Owls dominated ASU to win the doubles point. Taylor Dean alongside Freshman Ema Baraniakova defeated Lizaveta Demchenko/Ena Arnautovic (ASU) 6-0. Following in pursuit was the freshmen duo Ivana Gresova and Laura Nadaska claiming the 6-0 victory over Timothée Legaud/Carmelle Vial (ALST). Though the doubles point was secured by KSU, Izabelle Persson and Sophia Unger were up 4-1 against Bea Francesca Acena/Madalena Andrade (ALST) - the match went unfinished.
 
Kennesaw State kept the momentum in the singles competition, which boiled down to the final point. The Owls had strong performances in three matches against the Hornets. Taylor Dean defeated Lizaveta Demchenko (ALST) 6-0, 7-6 (8-6). Followed by Sophia Unger defeating Carmelle Vial (ALST) 6-3, 6-1. The final match point was clinched by Sofia Madrid walking away with the 6-4, 7-5 win over Andrada Madalena (ALST).
