Owls Win Five Events and Set School Record at South Carolina Invitational

Final Results 

COLUMBIA, S.C. – 65 members of the Kennesaw State track and field teams competed at the South Carolina Invitational inside the Carolina Indoor Track and Field Complex on Saturday.
 
School Records
  • Kali Terza landed a toss of 19.63m (64'5") win the weight throw.
 
Event Winners
  • Mollie Speights won the women's high jump clearing the bar at a season-best height of 1.66m (5'5.25").
  • Justin Campbell landed a personal-best leap of 15.35m (50'4.50") to win the triple jump.
  • Freshman Brian Limo won the men's 3K with a time of 8:21.42. That time ranks No. 2 in program history.
  • Caleb Hartley was victorious in the shot put with a season-best mark of 17.51m (57'5.50").
 
Men's Top Performances
  • Jeremiah Sims (7.98 seconds), Mohamed Diaby (8.06 seconds) and Sean Dyer (8.19 seconds) took second, fifth and seventh in the 60m hurdles final.
  • Grant Crabtree posted a time of 8:32.90 to place fourth in the 3K.
  • Keondre Glover cleared 1.96m (6'5") to secure fifth in the high jump.
  • Ashton Mitchell landed a leap of 6.88m (22'7.00") to take sixth in the long jump.
  • Anthony Harrison landed a season-best toss of 16.93m (55'6.50") to take home second in the shot put.
  • Harrison (21.13m | 69'4"), Jase Hunter (19.79m | 64'11.25") and Zachary Peterson (19.34m | 63'5.50") took third, fourth and fifth in the weight throw.
 
Women's Top Performances
  • Olivia Brown ran a season-best time of 8.56 seconds to qualify for the 60m hurdle final.
  • Natalie Cummings (2:08.87), Britney Chatfield (2:09.39) and Emma Ferguson (2:14.66) placed third, fourth and eighth in the 800m.
  • Rachel Dodsworth (4:49.74) and Faith Bobak (5:07.39) finished second and sixth in the one-mile run.
  • Madigan Wallace (9:49.60), Ciara Miles (10:09.22) and Zoe Smith (10:12.07) took home third, fifth and sixth in the 3K.
  • Kaylee Brown and Julia Versluis cleared the bar at 1.66m (5'5.25") to secure second and third in the high jump based on attempts.
  • Eriana Sanford tossed a season-best throw of 13.73m (45'7.50") to secure fourth in the shot put.
  • Sanford (18.13m | 59'5.75") and Maya Steines (16.67m | 54.08.75") took home third and seventh in the weight throw.

Next Up
KSU will participate in a trio of meets next week. The Owls will be competing at the Tiger Paw Invitational and the Music City Challenge on Feb. 9 -10. A contingent of Owls will also participate in the Samford Open on Feb. 10.
