Kennesaw, GA - The Kennesaw State women's tennis team travels to North Carolina for a pair of matches against Western Carolina and the University of North Carolina Asheville (UNCA). The Owls return to Kennesaw Sunday, Feb. 25 to take on Presbyterian for their first home match of the season.

Series History
Friday's match against Western Carolina will be the 7th match between the two teams. The last time out, the Owls defeated the Catamounts 6-1 in the 2022-23 season. Kennesaw State currently leads the all-time series, 4-2.
 
Saturday's match-up against the Bulldogs will be the 5th match between the two teams. The Owls last competed against UNCA in the 2019-20 season and walked away with a 5-2 victory. The upcoming match will determine who will break the series tie, as both teams have two wins each (2-2).
Sunday's home match versus Presbyterian will be the 8th meeting between the two teams. The Owls last competed against the Blue Hose in the 2021-22 season and dominated the match 7-0. Kennesaw State leads the series, 5-2.
 
Scouting Western Carolina
The Catamounts went 14-10 overall and 2-5 in the Southern Conference last season (SOCON). WCU is currently on a two-game losing streak, coming off a 0-4 loss against Boston University.
 
Scouting UNCA
The Bulldogs went 16-2 overall and 6-0 in the Big South conference last season. UNCA is currently on a five-game win streak, securing their last victory against Queens (N.C.) 7-0.
 
Scouting Presbyterian
The Blue Hose went 6-15 overall and 3-3 in the Big South Conference last season. Presbyterian's last win came against Tennessee State, 5-2.
 
Last Time Out (at UAB)
The Kennesaw State women's tennis team traveled to Hoover, Ala. on Friday (Feb. 16) to take on UAB. The Owls fought hard but the Blazers walked away with a 5-2 victory.
 
Ema Baraniakova and Taylor Dean had a strong performance in the doubles competition defeating Vanessa Mellynchuk and Mackenzie White, 6-3.
 
There were also other strong performances in singles play, as the Owls secured two points. Sofia Madrid [KSU] dominated Sydney Clarke [UAB] on court three, 6-4, 6-1. Izabelle Persson [KSUW] followed behind, claiming the 7-6, 3-6, 6-4 win over Annalisa Smith [UAB].
