KSU Hosts Stetson for Senior Day Saturday

KENNESAW, Ga. - Senior Day for Kennesaw State (10-15, 6-6 Atlantic Sun Conference) Saturday afternoon is set to mark the end of the 2023-24 regular season home slate against the Stetson Hatters (14-12, 9-3 ASUN) inside the KSU Convocation Center.

The Black and Gold look to extend their win streak over the DeLand, Fla. squad to three games which would secure the longest win streak by KSU in the series.

KSU will honor the 2023-24 senior class that features Kyndall Golden, Carly Hooks and Kayla Massop.

Saturday marks the final home regular season contest for Kennesaw State as a member of the ASUN before moving to Conference USA on July 1. The Owls have been in the Atlantic Sun since joining NCAA Division I in 2005.

Carly Hooks
  • Entering Saturday, Hooks is only 42 points away from achieving 1,000 in her NCAA career.
    • She has 518 in an Owl uniform.
  • Fellow senior Kyndall Golden has 40 blocks this season and 54 in her KSU career.
    • Her 2023-24 single-season number is currently third in KSU DI history.
    • Her career total is currently seventh in KSU DI history.
  • Kayla Massop has a career 46% shooting percentage in 109 collegiate games.
    • 2023-24 is her first season at Kennesaw State.
  • Stetson defeated Queens, 62-44, Thursday while the Owls fell to unbeaten FGCU.
    • Freshman Trynce Taylor led the Owls in the contest with 11 points while Prencis Harden had a team-best seven rebounds.

  • KSU is top three in the ASUN in the following categories:
    • 2nd - rebounding margin (+4.32)
    • 3rd - rebounding defense (32.56)

In Our Blue Era

Coach Blue Extension 2027
  • On Dec. 7, Blue signed a contract extension through the 2026-27 season with KSU.
  • She is the fastest coach in Kennesaw State women's basketball's DI history to 27 wins, shattering the previous mark by 12 games.
  • Since Blue took over in 2021-22, the Owls are tied for the most home conference wins of any DI women's basketball program in the state of Georgia (13), matching Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern.
  • Coach Blue reached 20 home wins on Jan. 6 vs. Queens, taking only 35 games to achieve the feat and passing the previous KSU women's basketball's DI record by four games.
  • The Black and Gold protected the Nest in 2022-23, accruing a 9-4 record inside the friendly confines of the KSU Convocation Center.
  • Last season, KSU WBB doubled its conference win total from five to 10, finishing with a 10-8 record in ASUN play.
  • In her first two seasons at the helm, Coach Blue has secured 24 wins, the second-most by a KSU coach in DI program history in their first two seasons.
  • Of the 14 Owls on the roster, seven are new to the Nest as freshmen or transfers, but for the first time as head coach, Blue's roster is 100% comprised of players brought in by one of her staffs.
  • The 2023-24 season marks the final year of competition for Kennesaw State in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
