Women's Basketball Welcomes FGCU Thursday Night

KENNESAW, Ga. - Kennesaw State (10-14, 6-5 Atlantic Sun Conference) is set to host the FGCU Eagles (21-4, 11-0 ASUN) Thursday for the penultimate regular season home game of the 2023-24 season inside the KSU Convocation Center.

Junior Prencis Harden leads the Black and Gold with eight double-doubles, 328 points (14.9 per game), 174 rebounds (7.9 per game), 29 steals and 121 made field goals this season. All are single-season career highs for the Swainsboro, Ga. native.

Thursday's matchup also marks ‘Jersey Jam’ night in Kennesaw. FLIGHT26 and FLIGHT27 students are encouraged to wear their FLIGHT jerseys and cheer on the Black and Gold.

This is Kennesaw State's final season in the ASUN Conference before moving to Conference USA on July 1.

Morgan Dillard
  • Last time out KSU fell to EKU, 69-66, on Saturday.
    • Harden recorded her fourth-straight 20-point game against the Colinels with nine rebounds and shot 53.8% from the floor.
    • Fellow juniors Keyarah Berry and Morgan Dillard joined her in double figures with 13 and 11, respectively.
    • Carly Hooks led the Black and Gold with three steals.
  • The Owls are searching for their first win over FGCU since Feb. 14, 2011.
  • Carly Hooks and Harden lead the Atlantic Sun with the most 20-point games by a pair of teammates this season with 12.
  • FGCU enters Thursday on a 33-game ASUN win streak, the longest active streak in the nation.
    • The Eagles enter the contest at No. 4 on the College Insider mid-major top 25 poll.

  • KSU is top three in the ASUN in the following categories:
    • 2nd - rebounding margin (+4.79)

In Our Blue Era

Coach Blue Extension 2027
  • On Dec. 7, Blue signed a contract extension through the 2026-27 season with KSU.
  • She is the fastest coach in Kennesaw State women's basketball's DI history to 27 wins, shattering the previous mark by 12 games.
  • Since Blue took over in 2021-22, the Owls are tied for the most home conference wins of any DI women's basketball program in the state of Georgia (13), matching Georgia Tech and Georgia Southern.
  • Coach Blue reached 20 home wins on Jan. 6 vs. Queens, taking only 35 games to achieve the feat and passing the previous KSU women's basketball's DI record by four games.
  • The Black and Gold protected the Nest in 2022-23, accruing a 9-4 record inside the friendly confines of the KSU Convocation Center.
  • Last season, KSU WBB doubled its conference win total from five to 10, finishing with a 10-8 record in ASUN play.
  • In her first two seasons at the helm, Coach Blue has secured 24 wins, the second-most by a KSU coach in DI program history in their first two seasons.
  • Of the 14 Owls on the roster, seven are new to the Nest as freshmen or transfers, but for the first time as head coach, Blue's roster is 100% comprised of players brought in by one of her staffs.
  • The 2023-24 season marks the final year of competition for Kennesaw State in the Atlantic Sun Conference.
