Owls Set School Record and Win Four Events at Trio of Meets

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –
56 members of the Kennesaw State track and field teams competed at the Bulldog Open on Saturday.
 
Event Winner  
Men's Top Performances
  • Ian Jackson ran 8.48 seconds to secure sixth in the 60m hurdles.
  • Malik Hussie (21.91 seconds) and Tyriq Hussie (22.21 seconds) took fourth and 10th in the 200m.
  • Trey Geter ran a time of 49.01 seconds to secure fifth in the 400m.
  • Keondre Glover cleared 1.95m (6'4.75") to take home fifth in the high jump.
  • Stephen Smith got over the bar at a career-best height of 4.97m (16'3.50") to take home second in the pole vault.
  • Tevon Shuler leaped 13.70m (44'11.50") to finish second in the triple jump.
  • Zachary Peterson landed a personal-best toss of 19.39m (63'7.50") to take home fifth place in the weight throw.
 
 
Women's Top Performances
  • London White finished seventh in the 60m hurdles final with a time of 8.99 seconds.
  • Samiya Wayne ran a time of 24.92 seconds to place eighth in the 200m.
  • Britney Chatfield posted a time of 56.87 seconds to grab sixth place in the 400m.
  • Samantha Hennen ran a time of 5:13.86 to place eighth in the mile.
  • Mollie Speights cleared 1.65m (5'5") to take second place in the high jump on attempts.
  • Rachel Swain landed a leap of 5.20m (17'0.75") placing eighth in the long jump.
  • Chloe Tilton secured eighth in the pole vault clearing a season-best height of 3.52m (11'6.50").
  • Victoria Joyce (11.92m | 39'1.25") and Alana Mack (11.75m | 38'6.75") finished third and fourth in the triple jump.
  • Maya Steines posted a personal-best mark of 17.74m (58'2.75") to take second in the weight throw.
 
 
NASHVILLE, Tenn.  – Two members of the Kennesaw State track and field teams were in action in the distance events at the Music City Challenge on Saturday.
 
Men's Top Performances
  • Brian Limo ran a time of 8:12.36 to finish second in the 3K.
 
Women's Top Performances  
CLEMSON, S.C.  – Two members of the Kennesaw State track and field teams were in action in the pole vault on Saturday.
 
Men's Top Performances
  • A.J. Johnson cleared a season-best height of 4.85m (15'11") to tie for third in the pole vault.
 
 
The Owls will finish action at the Tiger Paw Invite and Music City Challenge on Saturday (Feb. 10). KSU will also have 56 student-athletes competing in the Samford Open on Saturday.
