Crabtree and Burmeister Earn Conference USA All-Academic Honors

DALLAS – Grant Crabtree and Samantha Burmeister were named to the Conference USA men's and women's cross country All-Academic team, the conference announced on Tuesday.
 
Crabtree carries a 3.90 GPA while majoring in mechanical engineering. Crabtree competed in five meets this season. He opened the season placing 42nd at Stan Sims XC opener in a time of 21:11.3. He finished 235th with a time of 25:37.2 in a strong field at the Lehigh Paul Short Run. He closed the regular season posting a time of 25:08.1 to secure 69th at the Crimson Classic.
 
The senior took home 34th place (25:45.5) at the Conference USA Championships and 14oth at the NCAA South Regionals (33:49.7).
 
Burmeister holds an impressive 4.0 GPA while also majoring in mechanical engineering. The sophomore ran in five meets for KSU this season. She opened the season running a time of 19:10.7 to place 31st in the Stan Sims XC Opener. She posted times of 24:23.6 and 22:43.6 to place 354th and 138th at Lehigh Paul Short Run and the Crimson Classic, respectively.
 
She placed 56th at the Conference USA Championships with a time of 23:20.9. She would close her season placing 190th at the NCAA South Regionals in a time of 23:51.6.
